Enables Exchange remote mailbox-level recovery or complete database to alternate devices, regardless of location; provides greater level of protection; implements Microsoft Recovery Storage Group flexibility ATLANTA, June 3
ATLANTA, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- With companies facing greater e-mail data
loads from multiple locations that take more time than ever to back up and
recover, ROBOBAK(TM), a leader in data protection software designed for remote
and branch offices, today announced it has delivered advanced technology that
slashes the time needed to protect and recover information stored on Microsoft
Exchange servers, regardless of where those servers are located.
In doing so, the company said its Version 8 solution suite software makes
it possible for companies to quickly recover corporate-critical e-mail from
remote locations and rapidly restore it, even to machines that are different
from the ones on which the e-mail initially resided. It also said it has
abolished the need for unreliable and time-consuming processes such as data
remastering, which is used by virtually all other data protection suites in
e-mail storage.
ROBOBAK's industry-first approach focuses on the simpler, more efficient
full backups of Exchange servers on a more frequent basis, taking advantage of
the improved technology that Microsoft built into Exchange, such as its
compatibility with Microsoft's Recovery Storage Groups, which give an
administrator an increased range of options to restore a mailbox, a group of
mailboxes, or an entire database. It is also compatible with all versions of
Exchange from 2000 on.
"Our customers have requested a solution that is simple and powerful for
backing up and restoring local or remote Microsoft Exchange in multiple remote
sites, which includes managed service providers (MSPs), whose clients may be
located hundreds or thousands of miles away," said Ron Roberts, ROBOBAK's
President and Chief Executive Officer.
ROBOBAK's approach is distinctive: Version 8 enables administrators
protecting remote data and branch locations to perform "virtual transfers" of
data that allow them to easily safeguard their data without having to conduct
frequent full backups, a common practice. Version 8 does this by parsing out
changed blocks of information from the initial backup, and incorporating the
changes into the master copy. Plus, ROBOBAK Version 8 distributes the
processing load across client machines as well as the server, regardless of
where they are situated, enabling the system to continue running smoothly, and
reducing potential downtime.
It is this kind of thinking and advanced technology that led Taneja Group
analyst Eric Burgener to write that ROBOBAK "is a mature, proven product that
is a well thought out and implemented solution to the problems of ROBO data
protection." With proven performance across hundreds companies of all sizes,
and protecting more than a petabyte of corporate-critical information (the
equivalent of 180 Libraries of Congress), ROBOBAK is the fastest-growing
company in its sector.
