NEW YORK - (Business Wire) Ripe Digital hires leading executive in digital ad sales to head NYC sales office, Joey Jodar. Jodar will help implement Ripe’s strategy to provide not only in-video and display ad formats, but to innovate online sales and marketing programs that leverage the targeting power and measurability of online media.
Jodar was appointed to the post of SVP/Managing Director, New York and the company also added Steve Reed as Executive Director of Advertising Sales. Both Jodar and Reed come to Ripe Digital from the website Heavy.com, where they represented major accounts, including AT&T, Footlocker, Heineken, Diageo, Unilever, Sony PlayStation, Colgate, Wrigleys and many more.

Jodar founded and led Heavy.com’s U.S. advertising sales department and was responsible for creating Heavy’s signature ad product. He also led all business functions – including sales, marketing and programming – for Heavy’s efforts outside the United States, launching the brand successfully into Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. Prior to Ripe, Steve spent 5 years at Heavy.com with various marketing and sales roles.

Additionally he worked as a marketing director and marketing manager at Thomson Learning. Mr. Jodar holds a BA from the University of Oregon and lives in New York City. Reed was a leading contributor to the Heavy sales team from 2006-2008, an alumnus of Penn State University, and moved to New York City in 2002 to work for the Island Def Jam music group.
