Rick’s Cabaret International, Inc. (NASDAQ: RICK) will convert its upscale Philadelphia gentlemen’s club to a
Club Onyx for the night of November 20th, giving Philly a taste of the concept that has been a major success among African-American gentlemen in Houston, Charlotte and Dallas.
The entire 25,000 square foot club at 2907 South Columbus Blvd. will operate Thursday night with the Club Onyx format, featuring the best in hip hop and R&B music, and dancers brought to Philadelphia from New York City, Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston and Dallas.
“African-American gentlemen in our other cities have responded enthusiastically to the Club Onyx concept and we expect Philadelphia guys will love it, too,” said Ed Anakar, Director of Operations for Rick’s Cabaret and the originator of the format. “While there have always been clubs that cater to African-American men, no one else has created a first class, upscale environment that fully meets their specific taste in entertainers, music, food and hospitality in a luxurious atmosphere.”
The doors for “Club Onyx” open at 7 pm, with drink specials served all night and special guest appearances by celebrity DJs, feature dancers and other entertainers.
Rick’s Cabaret Philadelphia (and for the night, Club Onyx Philadelphia) is located just south of the professional sports complex where the Eagles, Phillies, 76ers and Flyers play their home games and across the street from a planned Foxwoods Casino.
