CARY, N.C., Oct. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- R.H. Donnelley (NYSE: RHD), a leading print and online local search company, today announced the appointment of Sean W. Greene, 38, as senior vice president of corporate strategy and business development. Greene will continue to be based at the company's Cary, N.C. headquarters and will report directly to R.H. Donnelley Chairman and CEO, David C. Swanson.
In his new role, Greene will direct the company's comprehensive strategic plan to help ensure the company delivers on its objectives as a leading-edge, full-service sales, marketing and lead-delivery organization for small- and medium-sized businesses. In addition, Greene's team will help identify and engage potential partners that help move the company's business forward.
"Sean brings a unique blend of print and Internet experience along with a deep understanding of the nuances associated with selling and marketing to our local business customers," Swanson said. "He fully appreciates how our print and Internet products work together today to provide value for advertisers, and he also understands the potential of future platforms, including mobile, voice, GPS and social networks. This background, and his strong leadership ability, will be of tremendous value in this new role."
Greene most recently served as vice president & general manager of Dex(R) Search Marketing, where he was instrumental in the development of R.H. Donnelley's Dex Search Marketing solution and expansion of the company's digital capabilities through the acquisitions of LocalLaunch! and Business.com.
He started his career with R.H. Donnelley as a sales account executive and quickly moved through the organization assuming a number of sales and marketing leadership posts. In 2000, he left the company to accept a position with Trader Publishing Company as general manager of EmploymentGuide.com, a recruitment website focused on hourly-wage positions. During his tenure, he was responsible for re-launching, re-branding, and monetizing the site formerly known as CareerWeb.com. He returned to RHD in 2003 to serve as the assistant vice president of competitive strategy and business development.
Greene holds a B.A. in economics from Denison University and has also completed advanced coursework at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School in Chapel Hill, N.C.
