"I never would have thought, the very first time my crew and I applied the PUMA Roofing System, that it would be tested immediately by severe weather," stated Leon Kohlmeier, Conklin Master Contractor. "But it was obvious that Gustav had plans of its own."
Hurricane Gustav had already wreaked havoc on Haiti and Cuba before heading up into the Gulf of Mexico as a Category 3 storm. It brought significant rainfall, and would become the third wettest tropical storm to affect Arkansas in over 3 decades. That's about the time Kohlmeier's team was on the roof of a 70,000 square foot distribution center.
"We were about halfway done with the job when Gustav came into town," continues Kohlmeier. "We had to seek shelter before we could finish. I was pretty confident in the PUMA coating, but when I saw that it didn't wash off from that continued pounding, I was really impressed. I don't think any other coating could have provided a better protection from the weather."
The experience with Gustav was a year ago. Since then, the same warehouse roof went through a severe hailstorm with similar results - the PUMA Roofing System passed that test with flying colors as well.
Kohlmeier concluded, "At this point, I don't think there is anything that Mother Nature can deliver that can beat the protection of this one-coat system. It goes on fast, dries very quickly, and will protect against just about anything that can damage a roof. I will certainly continue to use it for all my customers."
