PROVIDENCE, R.I., Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Renaissance Providence Hotel is proud to announce four associates selected to win the Employee of the Year Award in the hotel category by the Rhode Island Hospitality and Tourism Association. The Rhode Island Hospitality Association Education Foundation, a non-profit Rhode Island corporation, was formed for the purpose of encouraging persons embarked in a career in the foodservice or hospitality industries in Rhode Island.
Mary McDermott
Having started her career with Marriott hotels in 1983, McDermott recently celebrated her twenty-five year anniversary and was honored as a Quarter Century Employee of Marriott International.
Ana Miranda
Miranda's career at the Renaissance Providence has led her from a Housekeeper to the morning Lobby Attendant. She always comes to work with a positive attitude -- her team player personality has earned her the reward of Associate of the Month earlier this year.
Bernadette Vaughan
Vaughan has been a shining star ever since the Renaissance Providence Hotel opened on June 1, 2007. She has been the backbone, motivator and stabilizer of the "Delighted to Serve" department commencing on day one.
Seneca Fonville
Fonville has been an integral part of the security teams at the downtown Providence Marriott and also helping to open the Renaissance Providence Hotel. Fonville's hospitality career has taken him all over the state of Rhode Island and as far away as Hawaii where he worked on a luxury cruise ship.
The awards will be presented at the 19th Annual Stars of the Industry Awards Dinner on December 3, 2008, at the Rhode Island Convention Center.
