New Disaster Recovery products provide businesses with access to state-of-the-art office space in case of unplanned interruptions to operations DALLAS, June 5
DALLAS, June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Regus Group (LSE: RGU), the world's
largest provider of fully furnished and equipped offices with 950 locations in
70 countries, today announced that it has launched a suite of products, Regus
Disaster Recovery, designed to allow companies to cost-effectively plan for
the unexpected. The Regus Disaster Recovery product suite is an affordable,
flexible solution that provides companies of all sizes with immediate access
to business facilities if their workplace becomes unusable.
For 2008, the Colorado State University Tropical Meteorology Project's
forecasting team is predicting 15 named storms and eight hurricanes, of which
four will be major hurricanes, registering Category Three or stronger. These
figures are about 160 percent of an average hurricane season, which would
normally include 10 named storms and six hurricanes, of which two are major.
"Problems caused by every day business disturbances such as power outages
or unexpected IT and telecommunications downtime can easily interrupt business
operations, and natural disasters such as floods, tornadoes or hurricanes can
cause even more disruptions," said Guillermo Rotman, CEO of The Regus Group
Americas. "Our new Disaster Recovery portfolio offers businesses of all sizes
the flexibility and the means to minimize disruptions through seamless
transition of operations to our worldwide network of business centers."
The new suite of Disaster Recovery services consists of three levels of
protection for Regus clients: Workplace Recovery Assist, Workplace Recovery
Restart, and Workplace Recovery Reserve.
* Workplace Recovery Assist - provides temporary workspaces, high-speed
Internet access and access to day offices, meeting rooms and
videoconferencing suites for $99 per person per year.
* Workplace Recovery Restart - provides business continuity compliance,
with priority access to temporary or longer term office facilities,
with high-speed Internet access and telephony as well as access to
Regus' full range of business center facilities for $449 per person
per year.
* Workplace Recovery Reserve - provides complete business continuity and
reassurance, with a dedicated office complete with telephony and IT
connectivity that's reserved for whenever a company may need it, with
prices available on request.
"Over the past year alone we have experienced a 300 percent increase in
the number of inquiries from companies looking for immediate workspace.
Continuity plans are now seen as a vital part of business best practice,"
added Rotman
Accudraft is a contract management software firm based in Lake Mary, Fla.,
near Orlando, which positions it squarely within "Hurricane Alley." CEO Ron
MacInnis knows the importance of having a solid business continuity plan.
"Providing immediate access to back-up office space in case of
unanticipated disruptions to operations is a unique and innovative service and
Regus' new Disaster Recovery suite definitely fills a need for small-to-medium
sized businesses," said MacInnis. "When I was searching for an offering like
this there was really nothing like it on the market. The cost and time savings
that a Disaster Recovery solution offers really can't be measured in monetary
value."
With more than 950 locations globally, Regus Disaster Recovery solutions
provide access to three times more sites than the existing top two providers
combined and clients don't have to specify in advance where they want their
disaster office based. Until now, there hasn't been such geographic choice
available to both large and small companies. The Regus Disaster Recovery suite
of products provides affordable access, choice and convenience.
Regus business centers are located in high quality, well-known buildings
such as Rockefeller Plaza, The Chrysler Building and Sears Tower. All Regus
business centers come with a number of amenities including reception services,
meeting rooms, business lounges and cafes, business support teams and the
latest communications technology including videoconferencing.
