BOSTON - (Business Wire) Charles River Associates (NASDAQ: CRAI), a worldwide leader in providing management, economic, and financial consulting services, today announced that Randy DeGeer has been appointed as Vice President of CRA, joining the Marakon team acquired earlier this year. Mr. DeGeer is a former managing partner of Marakon and joins CRA from Huron Consulting Group. “Randy specializes in strategy and organizational effectiveness, and is a recognized authority in the industrials, metals and mining sectors,” said Jim Burrows, President and Chief Executive Officer of CRA. “He has a well-earned reputation for leading corporate revitalizations and a long track record of success in building relationships with major global industrial clients. He is a highly sought after executive and we look forward to his contributions to CRA.”
At Huron, Mr. DeGeer was a Managing Director in its strategy practice. Prior to joining Huron in 2006, he spent 14 years at Marakon Associates where he became a managing partner. Randy consulted with clients on a global basis and had been based in both the U.S. and the U.K. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. He will be working out of CRA’s Chicago office.
In conjunction with this appointment, CRA also announced that it has granted inducement stock options to Mr. DeGeer for the purchase of 25,000 shares of CRA’s common stock. Each option has a term of 7 years and an exercise price equal to $50 per share. The options vest in 4 equal annual installments beginning on the first anniversary of the date of grant, and are generally non-transferable without CRA’s approval.
The grant was made under CRA’s 2009 Nonqualified Inducement Stock Option Plan, which CRA adopted recently to facilitate the granting of these stock options as an inducement to certain employees pursuant to NASDAQ Listing Rule 5635(c)(4).
