MENLO PARK, Calif. & BICESTER, England - (Business Wire) Quintel, a world leader in the design, development and delivery of network-efficient antenna sharing solutions, announced today a transformative wireless service architecture and new ISO certifications. These announcements reflect Quintel
’s continuing strong growth in multiple global markets, and emergence as a leader in wireless technology.
Quintel advanced antenna products maximize the value of wireless service provider site and tower assets. Quintel’s patented QTilt™ technology extends these benefits by providing operators with the freedom to simultaneously host multiple service standards – including GSM, cmda, UMTS, HSPA, LTE and WIMAX – on a single, conventional antenna. Importantly, QTilt preserves independent tilt per service – design flexibility critical to achieving cost-effective spectrum re-farming and service upgrades, as well as multi-operator site and antenna sharing. Because of its radio frequency and digital capability, QTilt solutions provide operators more optimization freedoms than commercially available today, yield higher field reliability and lower operational costs than mechanical and electro-mechanical alternatives and simplify overall network design while enhancing quality of service.
Quintel also announces receiving two certifications from ISO, (the International Organization of Standards). A network of the national standards institutes of 157 countries, ISO is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards.
An internationally recognised standard, the Quality Assurance Standard ISO 9001:2000 is a quality management system that supports Quintel management in managing the business to a high internationally recognized standard. This is increasingly important as the company demonstrates strong international growth. Standards ensure desirable characteristics of products and services such as quality, environmental friendliness, safety, reliability, efficiency and interchangeability at an economical cost. As a business improvement tool the certification provides Quintel with appropriate processes and procedures for ensuring ‘right first time’ delivery to effectively manage growth. This certification underscores Quintel’s commitment to quality and customer service.
The Environmental Assurance System ISO 14001:2004 reduces negative impact on the environment both in the products Quintel makes and the processes the company uses. Environmental impact is an increasingly high focus global issue of importance to Quintel and its rapidly growing customer base.
Quintel addresses the global challenge of network consolidation, scaling, capital intensity and operating efficiencies that wireless operators face. While maintaining operator and service optimization independence, Quintel’s antenna sharing solutions allow multiple wireless operators, or one operator to deploy multiple air interfaces, on a standard antenna platform. This capability dramatically reduces capital and operational requirements while enhancing network quality or capacity.
“The QTilt service architecture directly addresses feedback and support from market leading service providers that are challenged and limited by the state of wireless delivery products today,” said Steve Obsitnik, chairman of Quintel. “QTilt allows our customers to provide highly flexible applications that address real business problems impacting wireless network roll-out and consolidation. The ISO certifications enable us to apply recognized international processes and standards to our business ensuring quality as we address the needs of our global customer base.”
