WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 Qorvis-Signs-Hanretty
Agency Prepares for Public Affairs Battles from New Administration and Congress

WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Qorvis Communications, a leading independent communications firm, announced today that Karen Hanretty, most recently the Communications Director for the National Republican Congressional Committee, will join the firm in December as a Managing Director.

November 4 brought big wins for Democrats nationwide, but it also set the stage for dozens of public affairs battles that will be waged over the next several years. Qorvis, one of Washington, DC's top integrated communications firms, is adding Hanretty's Republican credentials to its broad based bipartisan staff to add even greater value to our clients.

"The dozens of public affairs battles that will be fought over the next several years will be won with 'purple' strategies and bipartisan communications," said Michael Petruzzello, Qorvis' Managing Partner. "We are thrilled that someone as battle tested as Karen will be joining us for the challenges that lay ahead for our clients."

Hanretty, who has been a national political commentator for Fox, CNN and MSNBC for the past five years, joins the agency's senior political strategists, including--Managing Director Stan Collender, one of the nation's most highly regarded authorities on Wall Street and the federal budget; Partner Maura Corbett, a member of the Obama campaign's Technology Media Policy Committee; Partner Don Goldberg, a key aide in the Clinton White House; Partner Rich Masters, one of the first Democratic strategists to back Obama; Director Jake Ward, Press Secretary for Senator Olympia Snowe; and Managing Director Matt J. Lauer, a top advisor on public diplomacy during General Colin L. Powell's term as Secretary of State and Operation Iraqi Freedom--all of whom are successful in breaking through the background noise and getting the message to members of both parties.

Said Hanretty: "Qorvis is the ideal extension for my love of politics and messaging, and I'm excited to join their team. The agency has been in the middle of many of the highest profile public affairs campaigns in the nation, and it's an honor to work with them as the new Administration and Congress gear up for an aggressive policy agenda that will find foes and allies at every turn."

From presidential, gubernatorial, congressional, and state elections, Hanretty has had a seat at the table of significant political campaigns that drive the news of the day. Prior to serving as Communications Director at the NRCC, she was Deputy Communications Director for Fred Thompson's presidential primary bid and a leading spokeswoman for Arnold Schwarzenegger's historic gubernatorial campaign.
