MIAMI - (Business Wire) As if to help celebrate the third anniversary of QlikTechs Latin America Office, users of QlikView next-generation Business Intelligence from across the Americas gather in Miami this week for the Qonnections 2008 Americas User Conference. There will be more conference attendees from Latin American businesses than ever before, following the regions nearly 500% increase in customers since the offices first anniversary in April 2006.

Latin America is one of the fastest growing markets for QlikView worldwide. Over the past two years, QlikViews acceptance in Latin America has rapidly grown from 75 customers and 10 partners in four countries to 446 customers and 89 OEM, Sell and Deploy partners in 14 countries. Customer adoption of QlikView has been phenomenal across the globe and this years venue for the Americas user conference in Miami acknowledges both the impact and potential of the Latin American market.

As in other parts of the world, QlikView is finding acceptance in diverse industry sectors throughout Latin America, including: agriculture, banking, construction, manufacturing (consumer, industrial and mill products), media, mining, real estate, retail, and transportation & logistics. QlikView simply works for companies such as Argentinean paper and pulp manufacturer Alto Parana; Colombian agro-industrial and investment banking company Indupalma; E. Wong, Perus largest supermarket chain; Perus TASA, the worlds leading fishmeal producer; Chilean retailer La Polar; the state-owned bank, Banco Estado Chile; and Pepsico subsidiary Gatorade de México.

Latin America is not immune to the global economic downturn. CIOs and IT managers are under pressure to do more with less money and staff, yet deliver more sophisticated analysis and reporting that business users want now, said Lars Björk, CEO of QlikTech. QlikView provides a safe, quick, new technology alternative to the long, expensive traditional BI projects that more and more corporate IT departments can no longer afford.

The need for an alternative to traditional BI in Latin America is being met by QlikTechs commitment to the region, its growing network of local partners, and thousands of users talking positively about their experiences with QlikView. All indicators point to a continuance of the impressive growth that is enabling Latin American businesses to improve decision-making and business performance.
