MCLEAN, VA -- 11/03/09 -- QinetiQ North America today announced that Dr. J.D. Crouch II has been appointed president of its Technology Solutions Group.

Dr. Crouch has served as the company's executive vice president for strategic development since May 11, 2009, leading the overall strategic development and direction for the company which focuses on mission-critical technology, security and survivability, intelligence and systems engineering solutions for the Federal government. He also leads the QinetiQ North America Advisory Board.

Before joining QinetiQ North America, Dr. Crouch held senior level U.S. government positions within the Department of Defense and the Executive Branch as well as having served as the U.S. Ambassador to Romania. He still serves on several government advisory boards including the Defense Policy Board. Additionally, for nine years he was Associate Professor of Defense and Strategic Studies at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. He has twice been awarded the Department of Defense Distinguished Public Service Medal and in 2006 earned the Alumni Merit Award from the University of Southern California.

Dr. Crouch succeeds Dr. William A. Ribich who, effective November 14, will retire and assume an advisory role with the company. Dr. Ribich was the CEO of Foster Miller when it was acquired by QinetiQ North America in 2004, having helped lead their growth from fewer than 25 employees to over 300 technical and support staff with a worldwide reputation as both a foremost high technology development organization and a supplier of sophisticated hardware and services. Under his direction as President of QinetiQ's North American Technology Solutions Group, the business has expanded to over 800 employees, becoming a major supplier of robots, protection and survivability products, and technical support to our armed forces.

"J.D. is ideally suited to help us continue the pursuit of our vision to be a premier provider of world class technology and responsive solutions to our customers," says Duane Andrews, QinetiQ North America's CEO. "We are truly excited by the opportunities presented by this change in our senior management team. The entire QinetiQ North America family thanks Bill for his leadership during a time of unprecedented growth and transition."

Commenting on his departure, Dr. Ribich said, "It is with great pride that I leave QinetiQ North America's Technology Solutions Group with almost $400 million in revenue, a uniquely talented group of employees, and an outstanding record of technical and product performance." He added, "I believe that our culture of quickly and efficiently moving innovative technology from the laboratory to field proven hardware will be even more important in the future."

QinetiQ North America's Technology Solutions Group delivers high-technology research services and development of defense and security related products to the U.S. Defense Department, civilian government, and the commercial market. The business unit also invents and markets unmanned vehicle, warfighter, security, C4ISR, biomedical and commercial products.
