New Facility Caters to Clients, Partners, & PROTEUS' Engineering Staff's Needs
ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Md., March 21 /PRNewswire/ -- PROTEUS Technologies, a leading provider of software and systems engineering solutions, announced today the expansion of its Maryland-based Corporate Headquarters. The company has acquired an additional 17,500 square feet at 133 National Business Parkway in Annapolis Junction, MD, less than one mile from its primary client, the National Security Agency (NSA) at Fort Meade. The additional space will bring the software and systems engineering company's total occupancy of the building to approximately 26,000 square feet and make PROTEUS the majority stakeholder in the building. PROTEUS will continue to maintain its Engineering Solutions Office located in Columbia, Maryland, as well. This acquisition will bring the company's combined office facilities to well over 35,000 square feet.
The new facility expansion has been much anticipated for PROTEUS, as the company's success in providing innovative solutions to the National Intelligence Community and Health Care Industry paved the way for revenue growth of over 1,000% in the last 5 years. "We are building out this new facility with our client(s), industry partners, and employee's current and future needs at the forefront of importance," stated Dr. Charles Taylor, PROTEUS Executive Vice President. "The new 'state-of-the-art' engineering facility will support multi-contractor classified and unclassified program development, various lab facilities, including a graphics support lab, an IT Lab, and PROTEUS' ATHENA Advanced Research and Development Lab, which houses its Net-Centric Capabilities, High-Performance Computing, and Knowledge and Language initiatives." Supported by a high-bandwidth, fiber optic gigabit backbone, the facility will assist PROTEUS engineers in solving some of the world's most challenging problems found in requirements for our Nation's defense.
The new facility, externally adorned with "PROTEUS Technologies" signage, will also provide its staff of nearly 100 employees a place to meet, relax, and de-stress from a hard day of work. PROTEUS will be building a 2,500 square foot exercise facility available to all PROTEUS employees, equipped with cardiovascular exercise equipment, free weights, and a variety of strength training machines, a corporate technical library, kitchen/break room, and even a bicycle storage & mechanical room for the PROTEUS Cycling Club!
"This is the second space expansion for PROTEUS within the last 18 months, and third major build-outs in response to the continued strong growth and opportunities for the PROTEUS Team in their service to our clients and teaming partners. Acquiring additional space at our current NBP headquarters location was the logical choice to support our plans for a world class facility that serves as a unifying beacon for our staff, many of whom support clients at disparate locations," stated President and CEO, Teresa Taylor. "We continue to be impressed by the high level of dedication and contributions of our talented staff, and we know that this additional space will serve our staff, clients and partners well in their shared initiatives."
