LOS ANGELES, CA -- 04/25/08 --
Anacapa Entertainment's upcoming period
drama "The Forlorn," starring Crispin Glover ("Beowulf"), written and
directed by TJ Martin, began production in Donner Pass, California, it was
announced today by Anacapa Entertainment head John E. Moore.
"The Forlorn" is a feature film based on the real events of the 1846 Donner
Party tragedy. The Donner Party was a group of California-bound American
settlers caught up in the western expansion of the 1840s. After becoming
snowbound in the Sierra Nevada during the winter of 1846-1847, a number of
the trapped settlers joined together in a final effort to reach California
and organize a rescue party.
"This historical incident is a fascinating portion of American history and
rich material for an actor to sink one's teeth into. The pun is intended,"
says Glover.
In addition to Glover, "The Forlorn" features Clayne Crawford
("Wristcutters: A Love Story"), and a strong supporting cast that includes
Mark Boone Junior ("Thirty Days of Night"), Jamie Allman ("The Notebook"),
Catherine Black ("American Psycho"), and Christian Kane ("Friday Night
Lights").
"The Forlorn" is being produced by John E. Moore through his Anacapa
Entertainment production company and is also produced by Mark Costa of NHO
Entertainment ("Voltron") and Ted Meyer. It is based on a screenplay by
writer/director TJ Martin.
