AUSTELL, Ga., April 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Food costs... up. Plane tickets... up. Six Flags Over Georgia ticket prices... DOWN! As the cost of everyday commodities and conveniences continue to rise, Six Flags Over Georgia announced today that it will reduce its main gate regular admission price by $10 for the remainder of the 2008 season in an effort to help families experience the very best in thrilling, world-class entertainment at a more affordable price. The main gate regular admission ticket will drop from $49.99 to $39.99, the lowest price since 2000, and will take effect immediately.
"We are committed to presenting an unprecedented entertainment value for all of our guests," said Park president Melinda Ashcraft. "We are adding rides and attractions, concerts and delivering record high guest satisfaction while at the same time rolling back prices. In this environment, families need an affordable entertainment option that is close to home."
Six Flags Over Georgia boasts 10 thrilling roller coasters, including Goliath and the Mind Bender, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this season. The park also offers 15 kids and family rides, with favorites such as Bugs Bunny World and the Riverview Carousel -- celebrating its centennial anniversary; four water rides including Thunder River and Splashwater Falls which are both now open; daily live shows; meet and greets with characters such as BATMAN and ROBIN; and a full summer of amazing concerts -- including the return of the popular STARBURST(R) Thursday Night Concert Series plus an all-new Sunday night series -- 25 great concerts and all FREE with the $39.99 park admission. In addition, the $10 price drop is just in time for the grand opening of the all-new Thomas Town(SM), a Thomas the Tank Engine(TM) themed kids area, which opens to the public May 17.
Six Flags Over Georgia is currently open on weekends. Full-time operation begins May 23 and continues through Aug. 10. Weekend hours resume Aug. 10 - Nov. 2 with additional operating days during Fright Fest.
