Now through August 8, the public is invited to nominate a night shift
worker who made a difference to them.
"Nurses, firefighters, hotel clerks, restaurant servers, factory workers
and all those who burn the midnight oil to make sure that important services
are available around the clock are not always appreciated for the value of
their contributions," said Denise Champagne, marketing manager, OSRAM
SYLVANIA. "We know how important night shift workers are and we honor them,

Shift Heroes Awards to shine a public spotlight on some extraordinary people."
When it comes to automotive safety, night shift workers can really benefit

University of North Carolina, these workers are four to five times more likely
to be in automotive accidents than those on the day shift. While fatigue is a

A panel of judges will review all nominations and the top finalists will
be posted online for the public to vote from August 18 to 25. The winner will

with a trophy.
