OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- 07/22/08 -- Pechanga Resort and Casino has selected Halogen's leading employee performance management and compensation products to address the organization's growing talent management requirements for its more than 5,000 employees. Pechanga Resort and Casino, based in Temecula, California, is one of the state's largest operations of its kind and the first resort and casino to be awarded the AAA Four Diamond rating. Pechanga is moving to Halogen's Web-based solution to streamline its employee performance management process and enable the organization to create a pay for performance strategy for all of its team members.

Pechanga selected Halogen's eAppraisal and eCompensation offerings following a review of competing solutions based primarily on the products' ease of use and flexible deployment options. "We knew that any solution had to be easy for all of our team members to use, since everyone from housekeeping to food and beverage services to dealers in our casino will be a part of our pay-for-performance system," said Tony Chartrand, Vice President of Human Resources and Talent Management, Pechanga Resort and Casino. "Hands down Halogen offered the cleanest interface and most flexible offering available."

As evidenced in winning the coveted AAA Four Diamond award, Pechanga places a high value on customer service and understands the critical role its team members have in ensuring a positive visitor experience. As part of its HR strategy, Pechanga is moving towards creating a culture in which each team member has clear goals and is rewarded for meeting those goals. "We have built a strong brand based on outstanding guest service, and we need each one of our team members to have a clear view of how they contribute to our overall success," said Chartrand. "Moving to the Halogen system will enable us to establish expectations in terms of performance and reward individuals who meet and exceed those expectations."

Pechanga will be implementing the Halogen system using an on-premise deployment model in order to meet its strict security requirements. "Understandably, information security is a major issue for us, and we needed to be able to deploy a talent management solution on our own servers. Only Halogen offered us the flexibility of being able to deploy the solution in a way that would best suit our needs," explained Chartrand.
