TORONTO -- 06/09/08 --
Peace Arch® Entertainment Group Inc. (AMEX: PAE)
(TSX: PAE), an integrated global entertainment company, announced today
that its Peace Arch Home Entertainment® division has acquired exclusive
North American DVD distribution rights to four new titles. The company
will distribute on DVD the action/comedy "Ninja Cheerleaders," the thriller
"Naked Fear" and the action films "Fighting With Anger" and "Lord of the
Street."
Berry Meyerowitz, President of Peace Arch Home Entertainment, said, "We are
continuing to identify and acquire quality films for our fast-growing North
American DVD sector. Each of these titles will appeal to a demographic
that retailers can target in their upcoming promotional campaigns."
Recording artist DMX ("The Fast and The Furious" and "Gone in 60 Seconds"),
and Golden Globe® Award-winning actor Kris Kristofferson ("Blade" trilogy
and "A Star Is Born") star in "Lord of the Street," an action packed thrill
ride set in post hurricane New Orleans. A brutal Mexican drug lord busts
out of jail to retrieve the $15 million that his girlfriend is hiding and
tries to track her down -- staying one step ahead of the cops.
Music icon Willie Nelson headlines "Fighting With Anger" playing the aging
mentor to Ray (Kelli Fleming), a young, beautiful and deadly assassin
looking for answers about her past. The film is a non-stop martial arts
action thriller filled with gripping mystery, blazing gun battles, and
furious hand-to-hand combat.
"Ninja Cheerleaders," starring Trishelle Cannatella ("Surreal Life"),
George Takei ("Star Trek" films) and Michael Pare ("The Virgin Suicides"
and "Streets of Fire"), is a funny and fast action-comedy about three
cheerleaders who are 'straight A' students by day and fighting warriors at
night. They fight, they strip, they cheer -- and they are headed for the
Ivy League!
"Naked Fear," starring Danielle DeLuca ("The Curse of Lizzie Borden"),
tells the story of a small town where a number of exotic dancers have been
mysteriously disappearing. Diana, a new arrival to town, soon finds out
why when a mysterious gunman kidnaps her for a terrifying game of 'hunter
and the hunted.' Set free in the wild, she is forced to try and outwit her
captor before she becomes his latest victim.
