SAN ANTONIO - (Business Wire) With terrorism in the hospitality sector on the rise and insurance costs potentially increasing in response to this, Panorama International, a company specializing in international hospitality consulting, finance and development, has recently formed a strategic venture with Terminus Global Services, Inc.

Resort Security Services, LLC is a new company offering comprehensive resort security planning and implementation focusing on counter terrorism and crime prevention. Resort Security Services was created through the recognition of the growing threat from global terrorism to resort communities and a lack of response to this need.

Insurers and governments have noted the recent growth in terrorism within resort areas in countries with resort and tourism activities. This growth has resulted in significant decreases in resort revenue.

  • After September 11, 2001, fear of further terrorist attacks sent travel and tourism into a nosedive reducing occupancy rates in New York City to 40%. Marvin Cetron the head of a Pentagon study on the future of terrorism, Terror 2000: The Future Face of Terror.
  • In October 2002, bombings in Bali devastated Indonesias tourism industry with international arrivals falling nearly 40% from the prior year. Asia Times On Line Sept. 19, 2003.
  • "Tourism, one of Egypt's biggest sources of foreign currency, has suffered heavily in the past few years because of a spate of terrorist shootings and bombings. The number of foreign tourists plunged from 3.2 million in 1997 to about 2.5 million in 1998." James J. Napoli chairman of the department of journalism and mass communication at the American University in Cairo.

Hospitality leaders are becoming aware of the obstacles they face and are ready to respond to ongoing changes. Panorama International and Terminus Global Services started RSS to offer a solid security program specifically for the resort and hospitality industry based on many years of experience in similar industries.

Initiatives that are now offered to resorts, hotel chains and resort communities and cities thru Resort Security Services include:

  • Enhanced new electronic Security Systems
  • Unobtrusive but trained, equipped and prepared personnel
  • Refined Communications Procedures
  • State of the Art Securities Infrastructure
  • Medical Assistance and evacuation
  • Anti-Terrorism Training for Key Personnel
  • Furnishing trained and expert key personnel
  • Implementation and management programs
  • Continued information and updating

During their more than 40 years of experience in worldwide resort development, Panorama International has come to realize that resorts can be prime targets for terrorism. When a disaster occurs, it can take years for a resort to recover in hard costs and revenue. The effects could be devastating to any resort not fully prepared with a security and crisis communications plan. Moreover insurance costs may be reduced, and marketing enhanced with an inspired and unobtrusive terrorism defense and security program.

The new relationship with Terminus Global Services greatly enhances our comprehensive list of services that we provide to our clients, stated Carlos Vidali, Senior Vice President of Panorama International. Resort developers and owners can count on Panorama International to address the emerging and complex needs of today and tomorrow.

Those in the hospitality industry have a moral obligation to their guests and host communities and a fiscal obligation to the owners and investors to protect their resorts from all conceivable threats including crime, natural disasters, and acts of terror, stated Johnny Green President of Resort Security Services. Resort Security Services provides efficient measures to predict and defend against threats to resorts and their guests while giving all staff from housekeeping to upper management the tools to react promptly and efficiently to critical incidents.

Terminus Global Services Inc specializes in personal protection and security services for Diplomats and key executives in high-risk environs. Their security specialists are highly qualified professionals who come from elite military and police special operations units from around the globe.
