OXFORD, Miss., Sept. 25 MS-debate-ed-event
OXFORD, Miss., Sept. 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Yesterday's decision by the United States Commission on Presidential Debates to proceed with the first debate in Oxford, Mississippi tomorrow is the right call, organizers of a public pre-debate forum announced today. Similarly, Outburst!, the live, interactive public policy forum on education reform issues will go on as scheduled tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Lafayette County and Oxford Central Public Library.
Outburst! uses a variety of interactive tools -- live polling devices, text messages, and a dynamic discussion format -- to inform voters about education reform, particularly public charter schools.
The forum is unique in two ways. Using their own PDAs and cell phones, audience members participate by submitting questions and comments via text messages to a large on-stage video screen. Secondly, the audience uses a special electronic device for instant polling on questions posed during the forum so that poll results can be immediately flashed to a second video screen. These innovative, high-tech features result in an engaging and dynamic format for the forum's panelists and audience.
