OMAHA, Neb. - (Business Wire) Oriental Trading Company, Inc., the largest direct marketer of party supplies, toys, novelties, and childrens arts and crafts, and a leading direct marketer of school supplies and value-priced home décor and giftware, announced its Make the World More Fun contest winner, Suzanne Axelbank, from Bronx, NY.

To celebrate 75 years of fun, Oriental Trading Company launched its Make The World More Fun contest earlier this summer where consumers played the Find The Flamingo game to enter for a chance to win one of hundreds of $75 merchandise certificates. Following the game, participants were invited to submit their idea on how they would bring fun to an individual, group or organization. Over 5,000 ideas were submitted and a public vote determined Suzanne Axelbank the Grand Prize winner.

Suzannes idea was to help children in Ghana, Africa through support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The IOM assists in liberating children from extreme conditions, providing them food, clothing, shelter, medical care and schooling. In her efforts to raise money for this program she held a birthday party and sold art kits from Oriental Trading Company, raising $500 for the institution.

Suzanne will receive $10,000 cash from Oriental Trading Company and the IOM will receive $5,000 cash and $5,000 in Oriental Trading educational product which will go to the schools in Ghana. She said she would like to use her winnings to visit Ghana for the first time and to meet these children that the IOM helps. I am thrilled to have won, said Suzanne Axelbank. But the most important thing is to help these children, and now Im going to be able to really do that.

The contest has been a great way for us to live our mission, says Sam Taylor, CEO of Oriental Trading. It is remarkable to see so many of our customers participating in this event, and Suzanne's story is a great example of how our products are bringing joy into the lives of others and making the world more fun.
