TORONTO - (Business Wire) Opalis Software Inc., the market leader in IT process automation software, today announced certification of Opalis Integration Server integration with CA Spectrum, a leading network fault management product that provides proactive management of the network infrastructure through root cause analysis, impact analysis, event correlation, and service level management. The new release enables customers to automate fault detection and management of device configurations and provides tools to capture, modify, load, and verify configurations for hundreds of devices from leading network equipment vendors.
“Opalis is committed to providing integrations that provide a very wide breadth of coverage for enterprise customers,” said Charles Crouchman, Chief Technology Officer for Opalis Software. “For example, this Integration Pack for CA Spectrum connects data center components with automated processes that are simple, fast, and effective. With Opalis and the Integration Pack for CA Spectrum, enterprise IT organizations realize true value by now being able to automate repetitive, time consuming tasks such as corrective actions, diagnostic routines, and message response, saving a great deal of time and money for enterprises and improving service delivery for IT.”
The Opalis Integration Pack for CA Spectrum allows users to monitor for key alarms in Spectrum. Additionally, it allows the user to integrate those alarms into Opalis automated processes and enables the creation of events from Spectrum alarms that trigger additional automated processes. Opalis workflows can automate diagnostic or corrective actions, creating trouble tickets pre-filled with any existing Spectrum alarm data and collected diagnostics.
With the Opalis Integration Pack for Spectrum, administrators can continuously monitor key alarms in Spectrum, and can initiate automated processes such as CA eHealth diagnostic assessments and additional corrective actions for the Spectrum managed devices. Spectrum alarms can auto-generate pre-populated trouble tickets in service management tools such as CA Service Desk. Conditional logic and data look-ups can easily be implemented for auto-assigning these tickets to the appropriate help desk personnel or department, or escalating critical requests by email or pager. Similarly, CA Spectrum alarm data can be shared and synchronized with other system monitors such as Microsoft MOM, HP OpenView Operations, and BMC PATROL.
Opalis delivers unique solutions that enable IT process automation inside and outside the data center, across heterogeneous IT ecosystems. The Opalis solutions are easily implemented and quickly return value. Unlike traditional business services management, data center automation, or IT service automation products from other vendors, Opalis employs a scalable ‘enterprise services’ architecture to automate processes and workflows for critical IT initiatives, such as virtualization, provisioning, ITIL, disaster recovery, consolidation, and security. Opalis is the leader in seamless integration with systems management tools from leading vendors including CA, EMC, Microsoft, IBM, VMware, BladeLogic, BMC Software, and HP Software, thereby providing the integration bridge that allows IT management to orchestrate intelligent automation throughout the data center regardless of the complexity and silos in their IT infrastructure.
With Opalis, enterprises can quickly realize the benefits of IT process automation, driving down management costs and increasing productivity, while enforcing compliant best practices aimed at improving performance and availability of critical business applications.
