FunHub Creative Combines Fun and Fast-Paced Dice Games with Quirky and Odd Plush Animals to Deliver the First "Social Collectible"

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) November 9, 2009 -- Family play will have an innovative new look this holiday season as Seattle based FunHub Creative unwraps its latest game stored in an eight armed plush called Octopi. Octopi Games redefine the play experience by combining dice games with plush collectibles. They are the first in a series of "social collectibles" featured at Barnes & Noble during the holiday season that promotes face-to-face interaction with family and fri.

Each Octopi Game is a master of disguise providing two gifts in one for the holidays. On the surface Octopi look like a stand-alone traditional plush toy, but it's what's on the inside that makes it an entirely different social animal. Each Octopi has a unique look and personality with a dice game and treasure safely stored in the Octopi head. The first three Octopi in the series will be available only at Barnes & Noble stores for the holiday season.

"Barnes & Noble has an extensive collection of creative toys and games for children and their families," said Kathleen Campisano, Vice President of Toys and Games for Barnes & Noble. "FunHub Creative's Octopi Games provide a refreshing approach to gift-giving with its dual purpose game and collectible that's portable and versatile: It's a plush for kids whose storyline can be played out in a game with family or fri."

To foster social interaction, Octopi Games are designed for portability. Each Octopi comes in a travel-friendly size and features Velcro pads on the tips of the arms making them easy to carry and store.

"Up until now the difference between a game and a plush collectible has been pretty clear. A game was something you played; a collectible was something you kept on your bookshelf or bed. Octopi Games changes that," said Steve Hart, Co-Founder, FunHub Creative. "The dynamic element of game play combined with the collectible value of a plush toy makes this a multidimensional gift sure to resonate this holiday season with families and young collectors alike."

FunHub Creative will launch three different Octopi Games this holiday season exclusively through Barnes & Noble stores and online at Barnes & Noble.com (www.bn.com). Each Octopi comes with an easy-to-learn, fun-for-the-whole-family dice game complete with a unique treasure (All stored in the Octopi head!) The first three plush collectible Octopi to be featured will be:

Grippa Grippa may look serious but he's all about having fun, and having fun for him is working out and "rastling" other Octopi. As a matter of fact, Grippa's dream is to one day become a masked professional wrestler. Grippa's featured game is Sink or Swim. During a turn players roll dice and try to score combinations that allow them to collect seashells. Whoever has the most shells at the end of the game wins! For 2 to 4 players, ages eight and up. MSRP: $19.95

Dip If there is one Octopi that is off his rocker it has to be Dip. Dip realized at an early age that he was goofy looking - even for an Octopi! So he decided to have fun with the way he looks. Dip likes to make faces, pull pranks and get other Octopi to laugh. Dip's featured game, Doubloon Dippidy, is a fast-paced game where players roll dice and try to win all the gold doubloons by being the last player with a doubloon. For 2 to 10 players, ages eight and up. MSRP: $19.95

Pearl Pearl is one of the most talked about cephalopods in Octopilego. If she's not teaching dance class at the South Coral Hydrothermal Vents or protecting young octopi from hammerhead sharks, Pearl can be found playing her favorite game, Bed of Pearls. In this game, players take turns rolling dice and building points to trade for pearls. But watch out, your opponent can steal points if you are not careful. Whoever has the most pearls at the end of the game wins! For 2 to 4 players, ages eight and up. MSRP: $19.95

About Octopi Games They are quirky. They are odd. They are Octopi! But Octopi are more then just a collectible. You get an easy-to-learn, fun-for-the-whole-family dice game complete with a unique treasure (All stored in the Octopi head!) There's Grippa, Dip and Pearl. Collect them all!
