"The DVD received a welcoming response in the marketplace, had excellent promotion and positioning, and achieved a nine ranking in Billboard's "Top Kid Video" list. We feel that is a terrific vote of confidence for the film, and it reflects the overwhelmingly positive on-line reviews of purchasers, who are finding it highly appropriate viewing for their school age children," said Producer Joe Reilly.
It is currently available at most American DVD retailers, bookstores and rental agencies, including Wal-Mart, Blockbuster and Best Buy, and throughout the world in countries including Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. It will be available in the UK on May 26.
"We are very proud of the film's production values and the quality of the storyline," said Paul Woolley, Pres and CEO of Woolley Global, Oak Films' global sales agent. "We have found that the characters and plot hold great appeal for the youth demographic, and the values in the show are exemplary, so parents love it as well."
The Prince and the Pauper, a modern version of the famous Mark Twain story, is a family friendly feature, filmed in West Palm Beach using fast cars, boats, airplanes and helicopters. Both comic and action packed, in the film the Sprouse twins play rich and poor look-alikes; an actor who trades places with his mirror-double, an orphan, each finding adventure and life lessons in the process. Co-stars include Disney's Kay Panabaker, Ed Lauter, Sally Kellerman, Vince Spano, and Dedee Pfeiffer.
Oak Films is currently in post-production on "The Kings of Appletown", second in a Sprouse twins trilogy, and a modern version of the famous Mark Twain story, Tom Sawyer.
Oak Films, LLC creates, produces and distributes high-quality family entertainment to a worldwide audience. Other executives involved with the project are: Jonathan Krane, Executive Producer; Joseph Reilly, Producer; James Quattrochi, Director; Amanda Moresco, Screenwriter.
