The U.S. patent covers the method by which Noetix’s MetaBuilder technology automatically scans an enterprise application’s setup (such as Oracle E-Business Suite, Siebel CRM or PeopleSoft Enterprise applications), discovers its unique configurations, and generates metadata. This generated metadata enables organizations to quickly create and maintain business terminology-to-database mappings that jumpstart the report development effort.
The technology simplifies and expedites access to the business application data by presenting the information in context and terminology that business users understand, greatly simplifying the job of the IT expert and often empowering the business user to access the information directly without assistance from the expert. This process enables reports to be developed quickly — in days rather than months.
The patented technology also reduces maintenance expenses for enterprises in terms of human resource costs by keeping BI solutions intact when the underlying business applications that own the data are updated or modified. In short, the invention provides easier, more cost effective access to corporate data.
