MELVILLE, N.Y., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second consecutive year,
Nikon D Series Cameras rank "Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Digital SLR
cameras," according to the latest "J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Digital
Camera Usage and Satisfaction Study(SM)." On a 1,000-point scale, Nikon's D
Series digital SLR cameras scored 823 index points, making them among the
highest-ranked products in the D-SLR camera category. The Nikon D Series,
which ranked in a tie this year, performed particularly well with consumers in
the areas of performance, ease of operation, and appearance and styling.
"This study represents the collective voice of consumers who are reporting
on personal experience with their digital SLR camera in the real world, and
not in a lab. To receive this honor in both 2007 and 2008 reinforces Nikon's
commitment to creating cameras that deliver superior image quality, ease-of-
use and unmatched performance," said Edward Fasano, general manager for
marketing, SLR Systems Products at Nikon Inc. "It is Nikon's goal to provide
the best photographic experience, whether the consumer is a seasoned
professional photographer, passionate enthusiast or first-time D-SLR user. As
the only camera manufacturer to receive this prestigious ranking in the D-SLR
category two years in a row, we are reminded of our dedication to deliver
cameras that exceed our customers' expectations."
Nikon's popular D Series digital SLR cameras include such models as the
D40x, D60 and the recently introduced D90, which is the world's first D-SLR
with HD Movie recording capabilities. Professional photographers and
enthusiasts have come to rely on models such as the D3, D300, and the recently
introduced D700 digital SLR cameras due to their unparalleled image quality
and dependability. Nikon digital SLR cameras are engineered for use with
nearly 60 world-renowned NIKKOR lenses and a host of other Nikon system
accessories including Nikon Speedlight flashes and Nikon Capture NX 2 image
editing software.
The "J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Digital Camera Usage and Satisfaction
Study" is based on the collective input of more than 8,000 consumers who
purchased a digital camera between April 2007 and March 2008.
