Dr. Lawrence Petz, Chief Medical Officer at StemCyte(R), Inc., Receives Tibor Greenwalt Memorial Award and Lectureship

ARCADIA, Calif., Oct. 24  /PRNewswire/ -- The AABB announced that Lawrence D. Petz, MD, chief medical officer at StemCyte, Inc., received the Tibor Greenwalt Memorial Award and Lectureship for 2006.  According to the AABB, "This award recognizes an individual who made major scientific or clinical contributions to hematology and transfusion medicine and succinctly communicated these advances."  Dr. Petz received the award at the AABB annual meeting in Miami, FL, which ends today.

Dr. Petz joined StemCyte in 2000 after serving as Director of Transfusion Medicine and Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at UCLA Medical Center.  Prior to UCLA, Dr. Petz held a number of positions at the City of Hope National Medical Center, including Chairman of the Division of Medicine.
