DALLAS, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Bang & Olufsen, the worldwide manufacturer of exclusive, high end audio and video products, together with Futuretronics, a Texas-based electronics custom installation company, will launch a new Bang & Olufsen showroom in Dallas in the Highland Park Village. A grand opening event to celebrate the new store will be held on Wednesday, October 18, starting at 6:00 PM. The event will also commemorate the debut of Serene -- Bang & Olufsen's first cell phone to be launched in North America. Also present for the first time since its US inception will be the Advanced Sound System in the Audi A8, custom built especially for Audi by Bang & Olufsen.
Serene, co-developed by Samsung, is revolutionizing the mobile phone industry with its unrivalled performance, extreme convenience, and remarkable design. It offers the ultimate in quality, elegant design, and simplicity. Unconventional with its one-step thumb operation and flipped form -- the display screen and microphone appear on the bottom half, while the keypad and speaker are on the top -Serene is based on the premise that less is more. It includes a built in camera, SMS, MMS, email, calendar WAP, and Bluetooth technology. The phone comes with a brushed aluminum docking station and travel charger. Serene can be showcased with its exclusive Louis Vuitton leather case, designed especially for Bang & Olufsen and available in select Louis Vuitton stores.
Additionally, demonstrations of the Advanced Sound System in the Audi A8 will be held on-site at the event for the first time since launching in the US at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show. The award-winning Advanced Sound System in the Audi A8 is tailor made to the exact acoustic requirements of the car's interior. This brilliance is achieved by the use of innovative new Acoustic Lens Technology that disperses sound at 180 degrees ensuring a completely even sound spatiality throughout the car interior. It also sets new standards in sound quality, using Bang & Olufsen's patented digital amplifier technology, ICEpower, which supplies the 14 speakers -- each with its own dedicated amplifier -- with more than 1000 watts of power.
"Since 1925, Bang & Olufsen has pioneered the consumer electronics industry with unparalleled, high quality, audio and video systems," said Kim Gravesen, President of Bang & Olufsen America, Inc. "We are happy bring the company's tradition of excellence in design and technology into the Dallas market."
The 1804 square foot Highland Park showroom will be the only Bang & Olufsen store in the northern Texas region. It is also the first store to enter the Dallas market featuring the new BeoLiving concept -- a completely different way of living with customized audio and video products that can converge with lighting, draperies, and various atmosphere control modules to suit each and every customer's lifestyle.
"We are looking forward to serving Dallas with state-of-the-art Bang & Olufsen home theatres and home integration systems," said Josh Levy, owner of the Highland Park showroom, "As Bang & Olufsen products continue to evolve in their design and integration capabilities, we are excited to provide our customers the utmost in home entertainment."
