NEW YORK, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- With New York Fashion Week here, the latest accessory may surprise you. To most people, Cadillacs and catwalks may not mix. But to many fashionistas, the car you drive has become as important a fashion statement as your handbag or necktie.
Top New York fashion designer Dana Buchman was recently invited by Cadillac to put her ideas into a special edition SRX. Specially designed for women, she chose colors that were elegant, pretty and soft. She also paid close attention to the interior, outfitting the car with luxurious quilted leather.
In the past, automotive industry executives agree the focus was on engineering. Now, they are shifting their focus to produce a top of the line designed product and are looking at materials, fashion, finishes and stitching details -- just like you would at a major fashion show.
