PALM DESERT, Calif., Jan. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- AdventNet Inc., creators of Zoho, a leading provider of Web-based applications for collaborative business, today announced its newest online application, Zoho Notebook.
Zoho Notebook adds a whole new dimension to the traditional pen and paper notebook by providing a wide array of multi-media and online collaboration tools and functionality. Zoho Notebook, like all of Zoho services, will be free for individual users.
Pre-screened and selected from hundreds of emerging technologies, Zoho is one of 68 companies chosen to preview at the annual DEMO conference, a premier event that identifies cutting edge companies and their products. The event provides the ideal launch pad for Zoho's new content creation, aggregation and collaboration service.
"We were delighted to be selected to preview at this prestigious event and also very excited about Notebook's upcoming release," said Ian Wenig, VP Business Development at Zoho. "Notebook represents the next-generation of Web- based application by enhancing individual creativity through the combination of multi-media and collaboration tools."
Inspired by the traditional spiral-bound notebook, Zoho Notebook expands the pen and paper paradigm while maintaining the free form and free flow of ideas. The sophisticated and intuitive user interface makes it easy for all types of users to create, edit, aggregate, publish, share, and collaborate on content online using a standard browser. The application is loaded with tools for adding and editing text, adding digital audio and video and images or even content from other Zoho applications along with easy to use whiteboard functionality.
With Zoho Notebook, users can: -- Create Content - Notebook lets you combine text, images, audio, video and much more. Packed with tools for writing, drawing and adding content from almost any source, Notebook is an ideal Web publishing tool for novices and professionals alike. -- Aggregate Content - Zoho Notebook's intuitive user interface makes it easy to add and combine content from multiple applications and sources such as Web pages, RSS feeds, presentation slides, or digital audio and video from any source. Content is easily organized on a single page, as separate pages of one virtual notebook, or in separate notebooks. -- Collaborate Online - Collaborating online has evolved from sending a file as an attachment via e-mail, to the next generation of sharing and editing content with applications like Zoho Writer and Sheet. Zoho Notebook introduces the third generation of online collaboration: content sharing and editing at the individual "object" level. This means, users can share a single image or selection of text from a page rather than the whole document, giving the author absolute control over what information is shared with others.
Zoho Notebook can be used by a broad audience including business professionals, educators and students, small businesses or any organization with content to publish and share.
"Web-delivered services are all about empowering the individual, and with Notebook, Zoho is fundamentally changing the way that we create and consume content," said Chris Shipley, executive producer of DEMO. "This technology is useful to you whether you are a teacher, student, businessperson or blogger."
Zoho will be providing a sneak preview of Zoho Notebook at 2:19 PM on Thursday February 1st.
