FORT WORTH, Texas, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- When Spencer Deaton woke up Monday morning he had no idea what was in store for him by noon that day. More than 20 of his co-workers, family members and journalists witnessed the pure shock on his face when he learned that he had won a new Toyota FJ Cruiser, courtesy of American Airlines Federal Credit Union (AA Credit Union.)
AA Credit Union CEO, John Tippets, presented the car to him at his place of employment, The Guitar Center, in Farmers Branch, Texas.
"Now, I could not be happier to present the final grand prize to this young man," said Tippets. "This is a storybook ending to an extremely successful promotion for the Credit Union. We have presented five vehicles to our lucky member-owners, but to be able to surprise this young man just a few weeks before Christmas is very endearing."
"This is amazing! I never win anything!," exclaimed Deaton. "Thank you so much!"
Deaton registered for the promotion online at his father's urging. "My father heard about the promotion back in July, and he told me to enter to win the car. I didn't think I would actually win," Deaton said.
Deaton opened his account at AA Credit Union as a teenager and is now 23. His father is a former AMR Services employee who remains a member as well. Deaton attended the MediaTech Institute with the aid of an educational loan funded by the Credit Union.
The 2007 Road to Success Sweepstakes ended Nov. 30, 2007.
