SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- 11/13/07 -- TrustedID, a leading provider of proactive identity theft protection solutions, today announced it will offer free identity theft protection services to families affected by the California wildfires to prevent identity theft while they recover and rebuild. During the month of November, residents can call TrustedID's special hotline to receive three months of free coverage under TrustedID's IDFreeze service, which offers the strongest proactive identity theft protection available today for families.

"In the confusion around the fires, many people have lost their financial records, and may be vulnerable to identity theft. To protect themselves, families need to take proactive steps to prevent their identity from being stolen before it happens," said Scott Mitic, CEO of TrustedID. "Families trying to rebuild from the fire shouldn't have to worry about the added threat of identity theft. TrustedID is providing three months of free IDFreeze coverage to prevent any chance of identity theft, offering families peace of mind while they rebuild."

Through the month of November, families affected by the wildfire can call TrustedID's special hotline at 800-764-3414, between 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. PST Monday to Friday, to receive three free months of IDFreeze coverage. Families will verify their identity with TrustedID to immediately receive protection.

IDFreeze provides the strongest level of security and protection available for personal and financial information. IDFreeze eliminates any chance of credit fraud by placing a security alert on each family member's credit, so it can't be accessed without their permission. With IDFreeze, families are 200 times less likely to become victims of identity theft as compared to other solutions, and are backed by $1,000,000 identity Theft insurance from AIG and Lloyds of London.

"We are offering IDFreeze for free because we want families to be proactive in protecting themselves from identity theft," says Mitic. "Otherwise, it could take months or years to discover their identity has been stolen and cost much more to recover."
