BURLINGTON, MA -- 11/06/07 --
Acronis, Inc. (
http://www.acronis.com), a
provider of affordable, scalable storage management and disaster recovery
software, has announced the general availability of Acronis True Image 11
Home, the latest version of Acronis' file and system disk imaging backup
and restore software for home and home office users. The new version will
be available in retail stores nationwide this week.
In recent months, Acronis has reasserted its commitment to the retail
channel, taking the publishing and management of its retail products
in-house. Acronis has signed a partnership with Strategic Marketing
Partners, Inc. (SMP) to further build relationships with retailers. With
the launch of the latest version of its backup and recovery software for
small businesses and consumers, Acronis plans to step up its recruitment
efforts in the retail channel.
"SMP has a long history of helping world-class software vendors bring their
products to the retail market," said Jim Bull, senior partner of SMP.
"While Acronis already has an established brand name in retail, we are
pleased to be able help the company reach the next level by expanding its
retail presence and reaching substantially more consumers and
small-business users in more cities and towns across the country."
"We are increasing our commitment to the retail channel, giving it the
resources it needs to sustain growth," said Bob Gagnon, Director of
Strategic Channel & Consumer Sales for Acronis. "This means selecting
strategic partners, forging relationships with leaders in the retail space,
and developing a leading backup and recovery software that consumers find
easy to use."
Currently, Acronis software is available nationwide from retailers
including Staples®, Office Depot®, Office Max®, Fry's Electronics,
CompUSA®, Best Buy®, Amazon.com®, J&R Electronics®, MicroCenter®,
and Newegg.com®.
About Acronis True Image 11 Home
The new version adds powerful, yet easy-to-use features including the
exclusive Try&Decide feature, which allows users to perform potentially
dangerous operations such as software installation or e-mail attachment
opening without putting their PC at risk. It does this by creating a
secure, temporary workspace that is insulated from the rest of the user's
computer. The user can either commit the changes to their hard disk or
simply delete all changes without impacting the hard disk at all.
Added security and privacy functionality includes Acronis Drive Cleanser,
which securely erases hard drives before discarding or donating a computer,
and File Shredder, which wipes out individual computers files so that they
are permanently deleted and unrecoverable.
Other new features of Acronis True Image 11 Home, in addition to
Try&Decide, include:
-- System State Backup - Protect Registry, boot files, as well as
important system files from system crashes
-- Exclude files and folders from backup - Save space by backing up only
information that is needed
-- Preserve files and folders during restore - Ensures newly entered
important data is not overwritten when recovering from older backup
-- Automatically maintained catalog of backup locations - Easily locate
archives as the system automatically remembers their placement
-- Search for file in all archives - Easily search for and recover
particular files from all known backup archives
-- Message-level Outlook and Outlook Express data restore - Quickly
locate and recover important messages from mail backup
