ROSELAND, NJ -- 11/06/07 --
Viyya Technologies Inc. (PINKSHEETS: VYON),
developer and marketer of the VIYYA Intelligence Portal (VIP), today
announced its further involvement with the National Association of State
Fire Marshals (NASFM) in working with state officials to finalize
submissions to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). DHS has mandated
state submissions in order for the state to garner the DHS funds earmarked
for the DHS emergency responder interoperability initiative.
The DHS is encouraging the submission of more effective, reliable,
emergency communications platforms for statewide voice and data
interoperability. The VIP, with its strong Fire Service component, has been
reviewed and remains the most comprehensive solution for states aware that
Fire Services are an integral part of statewide emergency response.
Recognizing the strong need for introduction of powerful new technology
platforms, DHS is funding interoperability solutions under the Public
Safety Interoperable Communications (PSIC) grant programs. PSIC grants
total more than $1 billion in funding for the 50 states. The comprehensive
Viyya solution specifications, through its custom Fire Interoperability
Data Portal, have been distributed to the 52 State Fire Marshals, and are
currently being distributed to all 50 DHS State directors.
"The ability of all emergency response agencies to communicate across
disciplines and jurisdictions with voice and data during a crisis is the
top priority of DHS," stated James Burns, past President of NASFM. "The VIP
is the key component of fire agencies' ability to exchange critical
information such as building characteristic and hazardous materials to the
Emergency Operations Centers (EOC) during the incident or catastrophic
terrorist event."
The VIP, when incorporated into a state's plan, will be presented to the
DHS in December of 2007. Once a plan is approved, funds are expected to be
released to the state and available during the first quarter of 2008. Viyya
is also developing strategic relationships with key system integrators
currently well established in the government IT arenas. We believe these
relationships will increase our ability to distribute the VIP within the
PSIC funding structure and other funding grants currently being released by
DHS.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for our company," states John Bay, CEO of
Viyya Technologies. "We have been working with NASFM and the State Fire
Marshals for over two years on this critical opportunity. In doing so, we
have established close relationships with many states. We sincerely
appreciate NASFM's support and look forward to a strong relationship with
NASFM for years to come."
