OCALA, Fla., Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- PGA Tour and Champions Tour players, along with golf television stars, will play in the first-ever Juliette Falls Golf & Spa Community Celebrity Pro-Am Saturday, November 10.
Juliette Falls, in Ocala, FLA, opened to rave reviews in late October.
PGA TOUR and Champions TOUR players Fred Funk, Robert Damron, Marco Dawson, Fulton Allem, Scott Hoch, Dana Quigley, Dan Pohl, Jim Thorpe, Mark McCumber, Larry Nelson, Bruce Fleisher, Brett Quigley, and Steve Marino will compete for a $50,000 first-place prize along with past British Open champion and current CBS Sports golf commentator Ian Baker Finch and fellow broadcasters Bobby Clampett, also from CBS, and the Golf Channel's Mark Lye, and Curt Byrum.
Also joining the professionals in the Pro Am event are Major League Baseball Hall of Fame player Wade Boggs and Women's Professional Tennis Player Jennifer Capriotti.
The Juliette Falls Celebrity Pro-Am will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a players clinic followed by a shotgun start at 12:00 noon on the newly-designed John Sanford course. Players and spectators can expect to be impressed by this new Florida golf design, which meanders over dramatic horse farmland in the Ocala countryside.
The Pro-Am event will consist of five-person teams with one professional and four amateurs. The amateurs will be playing a four-person scramble with the professionals competing individually for a $50,000.00 first place purse.
The public is invited to attend the event at no-charge. Anyone interested in attending the event can enter the normally private Juliette Falls grounds to watch the professional players clinic at 10:00 a.m. followed by the event at noon.
