TOKYO -- 10/29/07 --
BigFix Inc., a leader in real-time IT security and
management solutions for the distributed enterprise, today announced it has
executed a contract agreement with Mitsubishi Corporation, Inc. (MC), which
positions Mitsubishi Corporation's Information Security Business Unit as a
master BigFix sales partner in Japan. MC's Information Security Business
Unit will immediately commence product sales in Japan, and will rely on its
wholly owned subsidiary, Infosec, Inc., an information security company,
for production and implementation.
"BigFix is pleased to partner with Mitsubishi Corporation, which is not
only one of the world's largest business groups, but one with a strong
breadth of coverage in Japan's information technology sector and a proud
history of customer satisfaction," said BigFix President and CEO Dave
Robbins. "Enterprise IT, whether in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, or the
Americas, is transitioning from highly centralized, legacy client-server
systems to highly mobile and distributed architectures, and BigFix is the
only IT security management platform that enables organizations to master
this transformation. Mitsubishi Corporation is the ideal partner to provide
large-scale Japanese organizations with BigFix to help them achieve this
transformation securely and at their own pace."
"BigFix's solution represents a fundamental shift from other IT security
and systems management approaches, which is why it interests Mitsubishi
Corporation," said Mr. Gosuke Nakae, General Manager, Information Security
Business, Mitsubishi Corp. "Global enterprises need a single, highly
reliable endpoint security solution that ensures policy enforcement without
handicapping operational agility. BigFix enables IT to master increasingly
dangerous threat environments, as well as crucial compliance and operations
initiatives. This is what the Japanese market wants instead of costly
legacy patchwork solutions, and BigFix delivers on all fronts."
With BigFix, MC's Information Security Business Unit will provide the
industry's most scalable, real-time security and software configuration
management solution for highly distributed enterprises and government
agencies facing challenges such as managing corporate governance and
regulatory compliance, business agility, and operations continuity. BigFix
allows global-scale IT organizations to manage their infrastructure with
instant-on solutions that continuously discover, assess, change and enforce
security and software configurations.
By incorporating BigFix as a core component of a global IT strategy, highly
distributed IT organizations can see and change hundreds of thousands of
fixed or mobile computers located anywhere in the world, on public or
private networks, simultaneously and in real time, without massive servers
or management resources. BigFix also seamlessly integrates into existing
infrastructure and manages it all from a unified console.
The BigFix platform is already used by more than 700 customers using over
7,500,000 endpoints. BigFix customers, many with more than 100,000 managed
devices, are in the financial, manufacturing, hospitality, and retail
industries, as well as public sector government, healthcare, and
educational organizations.
With Japan technical support structure in place, being provided by its
wholly owned subsidiary Infosec, Mitsubishi Corporation's Information
Security Business Unit will commence BigFix sales to enterprises and
government organizations in Japan as of November 1. A Managed Services
solution (SaaS), geared toward small and medium scale businesses, is also
planned for early 2008.
