ASK, actor of sustainable development with Velib' card
Navigo subscribers can use their card to rent a bike and now occasional users, visitors or tourists can ride the capital city with Velib' card. ASK manufactures, personalizes and delivers by direct mailing to users all contactless cards and tickets of JCDecaux bike rental service. After Lyons in 2005, Paris, Aix, Marseille, Mulhouse, Besancon, Toulouse, Rennes and Sevilla in Spain have adopted this brand new mode of transport which enables everybody to benefit from less polluted, less noisy and less stressing cities.
ASK not only participates to worldwide sustainable development but its products are part of a global environment policy. Patrick Sure, Business Line Manager at ASK states "We implemented a recycling policy in the company. The first phase comes from our process of silver ink printed antenna on paper. We collect silver so that it covers global costs of recycling. On the other hand, our clients are offered to send us their used cards and tickets, for free. We send them over to a company that will burn them to provide energy, this process is pollution free" he adds.
Navigo pass, developed by ASK
ASK was founded 10 years ago by two pioneers in the smart card industry. Today, 100 million users in more than 50 countries hold ASK contactless cards or tickets for multi application. They can be used for instance for multimodal transport combined with highway toll, car park access, museums' passes, in leisure parks, stadia, Olympic Games, banking.
