LAS VEGAS, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- An exciting new revenue stream and unique product has been born. Using new technology via the internet, families of the deceased can now quickly and easily share information with friends and family as is becomes available. The Infopage has been designed to have a minimal learning curve and maximum impact. The strength of the Infopage comes from the ability to update it immediately and send it directly to those that need it most. The Funeral Director enters the details surrounding the service times and locations. The Family Approval Contact views the information online in a WYSIWYG format and adds/edits/approves the Infopage. Once approved, the Infopage link is emailed to friends and family using the built-in email system. The Family Contact may edit the Infopage at anytime as new decisions are made.
Recipients are aware of service and viewing dates and times, family memorial wishes, hotel and contact information, whether to send flowers, where family members are staying, etc. Recipients can then forward the link to even more people that they think the family may have missed creating an unlimited passing of information.
"The traditional funeral home services are all still very relevant, but people now embrace new technologies in all sorts of niches of their lives ... so why not when dealing with death? In this manner the Infopage gives the individual Funeral Home a badge of credulity," says co-founder John Otto. "Our approach is that of a grieving family. Our tests come from seeing it's usefulness firsthand. Since it is much more than an obituary or memorial page, it fills a gap in society that no one has recognized before at a minimal cost."
Conceptual Background -- On Oct 21st, 2005, The Company Founders' Mother passed away. As the family began dealing with the barrage of calls requesting information about her services, they thought to use the internet to keep friends and family up to date. Over the course of those first difficult days, the first draft of the Infopage eased the problem of spreading information more than anyone could have imagined.
