selected as a finalist in the 2007 Annual MITX Awards. Held annually by the
Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange, the MITX Awards recognize
excellence in the creation of interactive technologies designed, produced,
or developed in New England.
Since 1996, the MITX Awards program has grown to be among the largest and
most distinguished competitions in the country, celebrating the best
creative and interactive accomplishments throughout New England. Port City
Web was chosen for their outstanding work in the Online Commerce MITX Award
category for their work on the Harbor Candy Shop eCommerce, also known as
Online Commerce, website at www.HarborCandy.com.
Harbor Candy Shop engaged Port City Web to re-brand the Corporate website
to better reflect the uniqueness of the candy company, and to implement a
more user-friendly shopping cart. Port City Web designed a completely new
website and implemented a search engine-friendly shopping cart that
improved the user experience. The result was an immediate increase in
online sales, and now the nomination for the 2007 MITX Award for Online
Commerce.
