LOS ANGELES, CA -- 10/01/07 -- First Look Studios is proud to announce the acquisition of DAY ZERO, which is set for theatrical release on January 18, 2008. DAY ZERO, a selection in this year's Tribeca Film Festival, explores the story of three lifelong friends (Chris Klein, Jon Bernthal and Elijah Wood), drafted into the military. This film is directed by Bryan Gunnar Cole, written by Robert Malkani and produced by Anthony Moody of Indalo Productions.

"After the incredible amount of hard work that went into the creation of DAY ZERO, we are thrilled to partner with First Look Studios on the theatrical release. First Look has a wonderful track record of helping films find their audience, and as the notion of the draft rises to the fore of our social and political dialog, we are excited to see the film resonate with a larger audience," said producer Anthony Moody.

"DAY ZERO tells a timely and powerful story," said First Look Studios COO, Dean Wilson. "Chris Klein, Jon Bernthal and Elijah Wood give amazing dramatic performances showing their range as actors. I am very honored to have First Look Studios distribute this film."

DAY ZERO is a political story at a time when the US government reinstated the draft. Three friends, George (Chris Klein), a successful lawyer, Dixon (Jon Bernthal), a tough-as-nails cab driver, and Feller (Elijah Wood), a writer with a host of insecurities, are given 30 days to report for duty. The film explores the emotional struggle of leaving their safe, comfortable lives behind for war. As a result, they are forced to confront their beliefs on courage, duty, love, friendship and honor.

Gary Hirsch, executive vice president of Acquisitions, negotiated the deal on behalf of First Look Studios. Andrew Hurwitz and Dan O'Meara of Schreck, Rose, Dapello, Adams, Hurwitz LLP negotiated on behalf of Indalo Productions.
