LAS VEGAS, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Democratic Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, whose long-ignored claims that oil was the principal reason for the invasion of Iraq, has scheduled a news conference here tomorrow (Monday) to address the stunning admission by former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan that "the Iraq War is largely about oil."
In his memoir to be released today, "The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World," Greenspan disclosed, "I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil."
"I have been saying that for five years," said Kucinich, the only Democratic Presidential candidate who voted against the Iraq war in 2002 and every subsequent supplemental funding appropriation since. "Everyone from the President to my colleagues in the House and Senate who voted for this war have been denying it and scoffing at the notion. Now, the former Fed Chairman corroborates that I have been right all along."
Kucinich said Greenspan's admissions, offered unapologetically and matter- of-factly in his book, raise serious questions about the judgment, the leadership, and the credibility of the other candidates who have been denying the war-for-oil argument. "They have to be challenged for being complicit either in their silence or in their blindness, and that's what I intend to do," Kucinich said.
The news conference will be at 12:30 p.m. (Pacific Time) at Kucinich's new Nevada campaign headquarters, Suite C18, Quail Park II, 601 S. Rancho Dr., Las Vegas.

Iran is next
By: Ratman , Mon, 17 Sep 2007 08:04:52 GMT

The war is about oil---and power.

The middle east is a strategic area and if you look at the PNAC plan, it clearly states the US is going to rule the world as an empire.

We are on the brink of bombing Iran and that is another war crime and crime against humanity which will cause countless innocent deaths and could easily start WWIII. We will be even more hated, and the world might just get sick of us doing what we are doing and invade us, and just picture China and Russia and a few other countries going after the US to stop the continuation of us being a dangerous rogue nation.

We have a severely strained military and not many are here to protect us (since we have troops not only in the middle east, but in a total of 140 countries around the world.

We could get crushed.

We MUST impeach Cheney, then Bush and others and get control of this country back.

A nice list of things to do can be found here:

Kucinich shows true courage.

I know the war was about oil, I see it at the pumps and in the record profits the oil companies are raking in. But it isn't only about oil, the weapons of war are by far the most expensive thing anyone can buy, and the bill is passed on to the tax payers while the profits are touted as a booming economy.

This war is still not just about profits though. Bush had plenty experience with his dad's failed campaign and loss to Clinton, and came away with a full understanding that to sell his party on security, we needed enemies.

For the Republican party, peace is as scary as it gets, and to preserve their majority, they will attack anyone promoting it. What America needs to understand is that Republican "security" puts Americans at risk of attacks that no military can defend us from.

Kucinich was right on this war all along, and he is the only candidate that I believe can bring true security to America and the world. No nation will ever have true security while sacrificing the security of another nation.

Rock their world Dennis, America is awake and ready for change!
