PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- To help city residents suffering through sweltering temperatures stay hydrated, local company Herbal Water is handing out free bottles of its new beverage Ayala's Herbal Water to residents across Philadelphia. The delicious new beverage is being handed out in Rittenhouse Square, Love Park and City Hall, and is all natural, zero calorie, zero artificial additives and zero preservatives.
Ayala Laufer-Cahana, M.D. is a Philadelphia-area pediatrician who created the drinks and said that the company is distributing the free bottles to help ensure citizens stay hydrated. Cahana said, "With temperatures in the upper 90s and a heat index in the 100s it is critical that people drink lots of water. And Ayala's Herbal Water is the best choice because it is infused with herbs which are also a rich source of antioxidants and other beneficial compounds naturally occurring in plants."
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that temperatures at Philadelphia International Airport reached 96 yesterday, matching the year's high, set July 9 and 10, and said that the heat index topped out at 105. The paper also reported that in Pennsylvania, Montgomery County went on a red alert, issued when real-feel temperatures top 100.
The free samples will be available at Love Park between 1-3pm today and Friday.
Ayala's Herbal Water, which will be available throughout Philadelphia soon, is available in six refreshing flavors: cinnamon orange peel, lemongrass mint vanilla, jasmine vanilla, lavender mint lemongrass thyme, cloves cardamom cinnamon and ginger lemon peel. More information about the product, the health benefits associated with herbs and information about how to order the product is available at http://www.herbalwater.com/.
For centuries herbs have been enjoyed around the world and are known for their healing powers. In addition, most health officials agree that natural antioxidants such as those found in the herbs used in Ayala's Herbal Water are more effective than those found in supplements.
Ayala is a passionate cook, trained pediatrician, talented artist and lifelong vegetarian, and invented Herbal Water in 2005 while working in her garden. While exploring new alternatives to sugar-laden and artificially flavored beverages, Ayala created her own blends of herb infused waters that magically satisfy thirst and restore the spirit.
