SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- 07/10/07 --
LetsTalk (
www.letstalk.com), the leading
online retailer of cell phones, wireless devices and service plans,
announced today the addition of Ruth Yankoupe as Chief Operating Officer.
An experienced leader within the wireless industry, Ms. Yankoupe will be
responsible for helping LetsTalk create a world class customer experience
at every point of customer interaction. As such Ms. Yankoupe will oversee
the company's call center, activation, fulfillment and human resource
functions, and will spend half of her time in the company's new,
45,000-square-foot customer contact and fulfillment center in the
Dallas/Fort Worth metro area. The new facility houses 250 call center,
activations and warehouse employees.
"Our recent development and expansion prompted LetsTalk to hire an
operations expert with deep wireless experience managing telesales
channels. I am thrilled to welcome Ruth as a member of the LetsTalk
executive and operations teams," said LetsTalk CEO, Delly Tamer. "Ruth's
track record for building national and online authorized representatives
and growing sales channels makes her an outstanding fit for LetsTalk as we
continue to lead the wireless industry in user experience and carrier
selection."
Ms. Yankoupe joins LetsTalk with 12 years of experience in the mobile and
wireless industry. In her most recent role at Sprint Nextel, Ms. Yankoupe
managed the company's telesales channel; 3,000 inbound and outbound
telesales representatives in seven countries and thirteen locations. Under
her direction, the telesales organization consistently beat plan and
delivered high value customers. While at Nextel, Ms. Yankoupe launched the
online authorized representative channel; a new distribution model for the
company and her first successful introduction to LetsTalk.
While residing in Washington, D.C., she served on the board of the Lupus
Foundation of America, Greater Washington Chapter as Secretary, Vice
President and President and was recently voted onto the Board of the Lupus
Foundation of America, California Chapter. In 2004, Ms. Yankoupe was
recognized for her philanthropic contributions and was presented the
Heroine in Technology Award, a joint award from Women in Technology and the
March of Dimes.
