SAN FRANCISCO, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Liberty Alliance, the global identity consortium working to build a more trusted Internet for consumers, governments and businesses worldwide, today announced the webcast, 'SOA: Protecting the Architecture by Leveraging Standards.' This public event will take place on Wednesday, July 18 from 8:00-9:00 a.m. US PT and will focus on the business challenges involved in protecting SOAs and a potential solution based on injecting identity into all of the layers of the architecture to enable single-sign-on (SSO) and enforcement of policy across the deployment.
The presentation will be hosted by Suneet Shah, CTO of Diamelle Technologies and member of the Liberty Alliance Technology Expert Group. Shah will examine standards such as SAML 2.0, ID-WSF, WS-Trust and WS-Security, and how they are leveraged in this solution to enable security and translation of tokens in a heterogeneous deployment environment where both standards-based and proprietary implementations may exist.
"While many SOA solutions are focused on protecting only Web services, there is an equally prominent pain-point around the ability to protect the architecture as a whole," said Shah. "The July 18 webcast will investigate the need to enforce policies around non-web services and demonstrate the role identity plays in securing the overall SOA architecture."
The webcast will explore the future of federated authorization where deployers can leverage XACML and SAML 2.0 as well as commercial applications that are identity aware and pluggable into existing identity infrastructures to provide better security protection across SOA deployments.
