Challenge Skipper to Supervise Boat Show Operations
The Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat Show today announced that Manley
Hopkinson, an internationally recognized management consultant, motivational
speaker and former skipper of the BT Global Challenge, has officially joined
the Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat Show team. Hopkinson recently completed a
four week advisory position with the ECBS team prior to accepting a full time
position.
With his 'can do' approach and practical leadership skills, Hopkinson's
primary role will consist of supporting the efforts of Managing Director,
James Brooke through his supervision of operations and boat show teams.
Hopkinson will ensure maximum performance and efficiency as he works with and
supervises the show's overall operations. With extensive sailing and boating
industry experience, Hopkinson will also utilize his extensive industry
relationships to further help the organisation.

Career Achievements
Hopkinson has had a colourful career which has spanned business
consulting, international speaking and round the world sailing.
Hopkinson is an international business consultant emphasizing leadership
and "teamship" utilizing the lessons learnt from his experiences as a skipper
in the BT Global Challenge and his unique experiences from the race to the
magnetic North Pole, 'The Polar Race.' He reflects on these truly memorable
experiences to teach and build leadership and team development.
As a professional yachtsman, Hopkinson served as the skipper of Olympic
Group, one of the twelve yachts competing in the incredible 10 month odyssey,
the BT Global Challenge 2000-2001, which is dubbed the 'the world's toughest
yacht race.'
In addition to his career as a business consultant and inspirational
speaker, Hopkinson's resume includes: Current Director of The Ocean Racing
Organisation, Inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Marine Police, owner of his
own boat building and servicing company and an Officer in the Royal Navy
during the Gulf War.
