NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Curb Records is set to release the soundtrack for the Universal Pictures summer blockbuster "Evan Almighty." The CD includes a line-up of Pop, Country, Rock and Christian artists in a sixteen track, hit filled package. Artists including LeAnn Rimes, Jo Dee Messina, John Fogerty, Blue County, Plumb, Bomshel, Room For Two, Hal Ketchum, The Mike Curb Congregation, Tracy Edmond, Stone Temple Pilots, Creedence Clearwater Revival and ZZ Top round out the line-up.
Videos for Rimes track "Ready for a Miracle" and Room for Two's "Be the Miracle" will be released in July. The soundtrack was produced by Tom Shadyac, Mike Curb and Kathy Nelson.
In the film, Steve Carell (The 40-Year-Old Virgin), reprises his role as the polished, preening newscaster Evan Baxter of Bruce Almighty, and is anointed by God to accomplish a holy mission. Newly elected to Congress, Evan leaves Buffalo behind and shepherds his family to suburban northern Virginia. Once there, his life gets turned upside-down when God (Morgan Freeman) appears and mysteriously commands him to build an ark. Directed by Tom Shadyac (The Nutty Professor, Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty), the film debuts in theaters on June 22.
The "Evan Almighty" soundtrack releases digitally today. It hits stores on July 3.
