JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 7  /PRNewswire/ -- The Main Street America Group, a super regional property-casualty insurance carrier, announced today Gregg Effner has joined the company as assistant vice president, distribution management.

Effner, who has nearly 30 years of property-casualty industry experience, will be based at the company's corporate headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla., and report to Doug Eden, senior vice president, field operations.
In this newly created position, Effner will develop, implement and oversee Main Street America's corporate distribution strategy. This includes researching, creating and implementing independent agency management best practices, as well as establishing a profitable and focused compensation strategy. Effner will also establish a strategy for Main Street America relative to aggregators and wholesalers, as well as large agents and brokers. In all of these areas, Effner will work in conjunction with the company's four regional presidents.
Prior to joining Main Street America, Effner was vice president, director of corporate analytics, at Zurich North America, Schaumburg, Ill. In this position, Effner acted as a change management leader with responsibility for driving improved efficiency and best practices throughout Zurich's finance organization. Prior to joining Zurich, Effner was vice president, national broker relations and cross-sell, at CNA Financial Corporation, Chicago. He has also held management rolls at Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, USF&G Corporation and Northwestern National Insurance Group.
Effner earned his bachelor's degree in accounting at Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Ind.
