IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that analystfirm Gartner, Inc. has ranked IBM as the worldwide market share leader inthe application development marketplace based on total software revenue in2006.This marks the sixth consecutive year that IBM is the global leader in theapplication development software market, according to Gartner.According to the independent report, IBM is the leading market share vendorin total software revenue, with 25.2 percent market share, more than doublethe share of its nearest competitor.
