WASHINGTON, May 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The immigration bill unveiled yesterday by the Senate, which would grant amnesty to virtually every illegal alien in the country, plus an unknown number of their relatives, amounts to a complete sell-out of the interests of the American public, declared the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). The Senate bill, S. 1348, includes immediate and irrevocable benefits for tens of millions of illegal aliens, access to low-wage foreign labor for business interests, and nothing but more worthless promises to the American public that the government would enforce immigration laws in the future. S. 1348, which the Senate is expected to vote on as early as Monday, was hammered out behind closed doors, bypassing the hearings process or any assessment of the fiscal, labor market or environmental impact. The bill would grant amnesty to nearly every illegal alien in the United States as well as children and elderly parents who may be residing outside the country. Within 24 hours of filing an application, illegal aliens would be granted work authorization and relief from possible deportation, without any background checks. In addition, the legislation calls for the admission of 400,000 additional "guest workers" plus their dependent family members each year, some of whom will be permitted to remain permanently. "In agreeing to this bill, the United States Senate has broken every promise that has been made to the American people," charged Dan Stein, president of FAIR. "The bill reneges on promises that amnesty would never again be offered to people who are in this country illegally; it violates commitments that Congress has made to protect the interests of American workers; and it compromises the security of this nation by granting legal status to people who may pose a threat to the nation. Adding to the betrayal, this surrender of the public interest was negotiated by senators who had personally pledged, as recently as last year, never to agree to any bill that includes amnesty." The provisions of the bill that call for tougher immigration enforcement in the future were described by FAIR as "worthless and an insult to the intelligence of the American public." The 2007 version of immigration reform contains the identical set of promises to secure the borders, establish a verifiable worker identification system, and enact penalties for employers who hire illegal aliens that Congress and successive administrations have made and broken countless times over the past 20 years. "The security and enforcement provisions are less than meaningless. They will either not be funded, endlessly delayed, or ignored all together," Stein declared. "While tens of millions of illegal aliens will reap rewards and enjoy access to the courts to appeal any denial of benefits, the American public gets shafted with no avenue for appeal." FAIR is calling upon the Senate to delay voting on S. 1348 until the bill receives a full public hearing, and until a thorough study of its impact is completed. "This is a bill that will quite literally affect the future of this nation. Its ramifications deserve more than a weekend's review on the part of the people who will vote on it," said Stein. Dissecting the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill
By:
Rudy Lorrah ,

|
During the past few days, rhetoric has been spouted from all camps regarding the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill.
President Bush said, "Many Americans are rightly skeptical about immigration reform. This bill provides the best chance to reform our immigration system and help us make certain we know who's in our country and where they are. This bill does not grant amnesty. Amnesty is forgiveness without a penalty."
Yes, Mr. President, Americans are skeptical. A Bill was passed that mandated the building of 800 plus miles of fence over 6 months ago - to date, only two miles have been completed. And yes this Bill does grant amnesty, but I will go into that shortly.
As I qualitatively examed this bill, I have found a great number of disturding sections. As I outline them I will be brief as possible.
SEC. 113 - An alien who is a national of a noncontiguous country, who has not been admitted or paroled into the United States is apprehended within 100 miles of the international border of the United States or presents a flight risk can post a $5,000 bond and go about his business. So an Iranian national could be stopped near our border - post a bond and go on to terrorize this country.
SEC. 220 - Discusses other alternatives to detention, including-- release on an order of recognizance; appearance bonds; and electronic monitoring devices. Another form of catch and release.
SEC. 305 - Under this section, if you lose your social security card a replacement cannot be had until the Commissioner of Social Security determines your request can be proven legitimate. Have fun with this one.
SEC. 306 - You will love this one. If your state has not signed onto the REAL ID ACT, your state issued driver’s license or identification card can no longer be used to verify your identity.
SEC. 416 - Allows the Secretary of Homeland Security or Secretary of Labor to outsource work ….. to implement any provision of this title. Can you say Dubai Ports controversy?
SEC. 506 - Permits alien’s family members to visit using a visitor visa for 30 days, but does not provide for any criminal penalties for violations of the terms and conditions or overstaying the visa. Can you say amnesty?
SEC. 601 - "If an alien is apprehended after the date of enactment of this section, but before the promulgation of regulations pursuant to this section, and the alien can establish prima facie eligibility as a nonimmigrant under section 101(a)(15)(H)(v)(b), the Secretary of Homeland Security shall provide the alien with a reasonable opportunity, after promulgation of regulations, to file an application for adjustment." Can you say catch and release? There are too any other disturding portions here to mention.
SEC. 609 - Bars prosecution of aliens who commit forgery, use false passports, or perpetrate fraud using false visas, permits, or other documents and they are still eligible for Z nonimmigrant status. Amnesty again!
SEC. 616 - Parents who are straining to send their children to college will want to rip your hair out over this. Probationary Z or Z nonimmigrant aliens shall be eligible for the following assistance under such title IV: student loans, federal work-study programs, Federal Pell Grants, supplemental educational opportunity grants, special programs to prepare students from low-income families for postsecondary education, to provide remedial (including remedial language study) and other services, and to provide for payments to the States to assist them in making financial aid available to such students. MUCH BETTER THAN AMNESTY.
SEC. 617 - Allows for refund of penalties paid by aliens in some cases.
And the list goes on, but you do not have hours to read it all.
I have only one question to ask you - are you going to sit there and let Congress give your country away?
In 1986, Senator Kennedy said, "This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3 million illegal aliens, will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this."
I will leave you with something Newt Gingrich recently wrote:
"In 1986, I voted for the Simpson-Mazzoli immigration bill. We were promised that in return for amnesty for far fewer than three million illegal immigrants we would get:
· Control of the border;
· Enforcement of laws requiring employers to know someone is here legally before hiring them; and
· No more amnesty and no more tolerance of illegality
The government broke its word on every one of those provisions."

Maybe one day the people of this country will wake up to the fact that the 2 dozen people that control the global economy, have one main goal, and that is to slit this countries throat by turning it into a 3rd wolrd country, and hey then they can swoop in like the vultures they are and buy it back for 10%

An Open Letter To Congress
By:
Rudy Lorrah ,

For too many years, Americans have sat back and let the people they have elected to office run this country. We have said "well, they seem to know what they are doing". After all, we have to go to work, raise a family, pay bills, make dinner, and god forbid, we cannot miss our favorite television program. Then we look up from our busy lives and find that this great country we have entrusted to those "elected officials" has completely gone to hell in a hand basket.
This letter is being sent to inform those of you in Congress that those days are gone. And they are gone forever.
For the last two decades, you have allowed our laws not to be enforced, our borders not to be controlled, and the result is people who have no legal right to be in this country are marching in the streets by the tens of thousands making demands. Now you want to give into those demands - not this time. In the 1980’s, amnesty was given to millions of illegal people and this only opened the flood gates because our borders were not properly controlled.
The primary function of the Federal Government is to protect the sovereignty of these united states. You have failed to perform the primary task for which you were elected. You have forgotten that you are employees of the American people. This letter is your notice that if you do not do the job you were sent to perform, you will be replaced with someone who will complete this task.
Task number one - Close and control our borders. If it takes a fence, wall, airplanes, electronics, satellites, or National Guard members every fifty feet along our border, then DO IT.
Task number two - Enforce our employment laws. Set up a secure website tried into the social security database. Employers can log into this website using their employer tax ID and a password, input a name, social security number, and a date of birth to check current and future hires. If the information does not match, the person being checked cannot be hired or continued to be employed. Every quarter the employer should be required to recheck employees. If employers do not comply, enforce the current laws and prosecute them.
Task number Three - If those who are in this country illegally are not able to work, they will leave. Set up a temporary guest worker program that can only be applied for in other countries at our embassies or other approved places. Every person who applies will be thoroughly checked for good health, a criminal record in all countries, and any other standard which would apply.
Once a person is approved, they are given proper ID and paperwork which is then input into the social security database, which will expire after the temporary limit has been reached.
So members of Congress, these are your tasks. Remember we, your employer - the American people, are watching you and there is an election coming up soon. Will you do your job and continue being employed or will you be replaced - the choice is yours. Isn’t America great, we all still have choices.

I don't beleive granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens is the correct thing to do. At the very least the american public should have the last say so in this matter. So put it to a vote and let the people decide!
