CHANHASSEN, Minn., May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Datalink , an independent information storage architect, is pleased to announce that senior database consultant Ari Kaplan has been reelected to a year term as president of the Independent Oracle User's Group (IOUG).
"I am honored to be reelected by the IOUG membership," said Kaplan. "Our user group is filled with countless talented people who freely dedicate their time for the betterment of Oracle users worldwide."
The IOUG membership has a close partnership with the Oracle Corporation and includes over 20,000 technology professionals comprised of more than 50 regional user groups and 12 special interest groups.
According to Kaplan, larger databases and shorter backup windows are prompting Oracle users to make backup and recovery capabilities a top priority. While most companies understand that it is important to have a solid enterprise backup plan in place for all corporate information assets, the requirements are especially stringent for database applications, and the options vary greatly based on needs. Kaplan works closely with customers to address these challenges.
"Specific environments are well suited for Oracle's included backup solutions," said Kaplan. "However, third party solutions often make the best sense. Datalink helps Oracle users sort through their options and designs solutions that unify backup and recovery architectures with the needs of the organization."
